Andrews International acquires the U.S. and Mexico guarding operations of Garda World Security Corporation

04 June 2009
Andrews International has entered into an agreement to acquire the U.S. and Mexico guarding operations of Garda World Security Corporation, including the uniformed security, strike security/asset protection and U.S. consulting and investigations operations.

This acquisition makes Andrews International the largest privately-held, American-owned security service provider of uniformed security, consulting and investigations and personal protection services in the United States.

With support from Andrews International’s leading investment partner, Audax Group, the transaction closed June 2, 2009 and adds 14 offices and operations across the U.S. and abroad to the firm’s existing infrastructure. This acquisition continues Andrews International’s growth strategy of organic business development, alliance-building and acquisition to lead the industry in security and risk-mitigation services.

Following the merger, Andrews International will restructure its operations into six U.S. regions, providing experienced and customer-focused regional management to its combined diverse client base throughout the U.S. and Latin-America. This integration process will be largely transparent to its clients, without any disruption to provision of services.

“More than ever in this economic climate, Andrews International is committed to increasing capabilities and providing solutions that balance business and security objectives, ultimately bringing value and efficiency to our clients’ security programs,” said Randy Andrews, chairman and CEO of Andrews International.

“This is the opportune time to enhance our operations and footprint with the acquisition of a company that values the same core business philosophy as Andrews International: a focus on quality service, flexibility and entrepreneurial innovation. This purchase will bring the strengths of our two companies together, with industry leadership of shared client-centric best practices and an expanded national presence to support our growing customer base.”

The acquisition expands and strengthens Andrews International’s operations in Mexico, with an office based in Mexico City and a strategically formed management team with 14 years of experience operating throughout Mexico. The acquisition of Garda’s Mexico operations will combine Andrews International’s strengths in international consulting and investigations operations with local experience and expertise to deliver strategic growth and expansion throughout Latin America. The company offers consulting and investigation services to assist with enterprise risk management, cultural awareness and travel security for customers in Mexico, as well as due diligence investigations of employees and business ventures for merger and acquisition, asset and personal protection, monitoring and emergency response planning.
